The guiding light part 2

I wrote about the Quran and its effect in my input, “The guiding light“. I wanted to extend that input a little bit. I wrote the following words “…and even now, years from the time I first opened the Quran, I still learn from it… a blessing I am very grateful for”. What we need to remind ourselves of, and I am sure that many of you already think like this, is how fortunate we are to have received that guidance and an example to follow in the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم)… because as most people know and also can see in this dunya, is that not everyone are that fortunate…

Surah Al-Baqara 2:269
He granteth wisdom to whom He pleaseth; and he to whom wisdom is granted receiveth indeed a benefit overflowing; but none will grasp the Message but men of understanding.

Surah Yunus 10:100
No soul can believe, except by the will of Allah, and He will place doubt (or obscurity) on those who will not understand.

Given the importance of His guiding light, it may also sometimes be agonizing to see how people treat His outstretched rope and kindness…

Surah Yaseen 36:77
Doth not man see that it is We Who created him from sperm? yet behold! he (stands forth) as an open adversary!

This can sometimes cause disputes but keep in mind that these kinds of people do not hurt anyone but themselves in the end…

Surah Al-An’aam 6:164
Every soul draws the meed of its acts on none but itself: no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another. Your goal in the end is towards Allah: He will tell you the truth of the things wherein ye disputed.

If we start feeling despair over such situations, we must always remember His mercy. That hope is not lost. Not even for those who reject His guidance… as long as they have a chance to receive it…

Surah Az-Zumar 39:53-54
Say: “O my Servants who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah: for Allah forgives all sins: for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

“Turn ye to our Lord (in repentance) and bow to His (Will), before the Penalty comes on you: after that ye shall not be helped.

Surah Al-Anfaal 8:70
O Prophet! say to those who are captives in your hands: “If Allah findeth any good in your hearts, He will give you something better than what has been taken from you, and He will forgive you: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.”

It is amazing to think that even an act such as worshipping something other than Allah has been forgiven by Him… as long as the regret has come before life’s journey has passed…

Surah Al-Baqara 2:51-52
And remember We appointed forty nights for Moses, and in his absence ye took the calf (for worship), and ye did grievous wrong.
Even then We did forgive you; there was a chance for you to be grateful
.

Surah Muhammad 47:34
Those who reject Allah, and hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, then die rejecting Allah,- Allah will not forgive them.

Surah An-Nisaa 4:48
Allah forgiveth not that partners should be set up with Him; but He forgiveth anything else, to whom He pleaseth; to set up partners with Allah is to devise a sin Most heinous indeed.

With that in mind, there is always hope… as long as we put our trust in Him and remember to be grateful. Remind yourself of the huge favour He is bestowing on you for the guidance He is giving you. Never take it for granted.

I hope that you found this an inspiring input and that it has brought something to consider.

The best of times to you all inshallah.
Peace, happiness, and stay faithful.
