Aya 16:90

Greetings everyone. Last week was rather active on this end so I apologize for the delay. There was a Khutba held on Friday (the 12th) by brother Sameer, discussing the following aya…

Surah An-Nahl 16:90
Allah commands justice, the doing of good, and liberality to kith and kin, and He forbids all shameful deeds, and injustice and rebellion: He instructs you, that ye may receive admonition.

I shared a brief summary of it in English, and I felt the issue is important to consider, so I wrote an input based on the summary to share with you here as well…

The Khutba

Today’s Khutba is about aya 90 in Surah An-Nahl. “Allah commands justice, the doing of good, and liberality to kith and kin, and He forbids all shameful deeds, and injustice and rebellion: He instructs you, that ye may receive admonition.

Justice is when a person lean on the side of truth and fairness in all his words and deeds. Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) commands kindness, reminding you to provide relatives, as a means of help and assistance, whatever good and whatever righteousness you are able to offer them.
He forbids indecency, any sins that are said and done, trasngressions like arrogance and oppression.
Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) concludes the noble aya by pointing you to follow what He commanded you, that you may improve your remembrance of what benefits you and act according to what He taught you.

This aya is a reminder of the guidance and light that you receive to be able to succeed in finding your way through the darkness.

The message of the Holy Quran is a blessing. What is important to remember is that we are all humans and fall short sometimes. No one is perfect. Therefore, I feel it appropriate to conclude this input with the following statement that I shared in a previous update

We are all fortunate to have received this light, but we can never fully appreciate just how fortunate. Faith should never be taken for granted… it is something we should remember to be grateful for. In the end, we are nothing without Him.

Surah Al-Baqara 2:257
Allah is the Protector of those who have faith: from the depths of darkness He will lead them forth into light.

Surah An-Noor 24:46
We have indeed sent down signs that make things manifest: and Allah guides whom He wills to a way that is straight.

Surah Al-Baqara 2:152
Then do ye remember Me; I will remember you. Be grateful to Me, and reject not Faith.

I hope that you found this an inspiring input and that it has brought something to consider.

The best of times to you all inshallah.
Peace, happiness, and stay faithful.
