A steady mind

I started discussing the road to Jannah in my last input, and things to consider in our striving to reach the goal. Inshallah we will take the topic further. I mentioned that we should make the Quran a more active part of our lives. I think many of you already know what kind of effect that has on the heart and soul as it also affects our thinking and dealings in life. Its light reminds us of Him who created us and equally reminds us of who we are. This understanding is a key that may help us get through the gates of Jannah inshallah… it’s called “wisdom”.

سورة البقرة ٢٦٩
وَمَن يُؤۡتَ ٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ فَقَدۡ أُوتِيَ خَيۡرٗا كَثِيرٗاۗ

Surah Al-Baqara 2:269
and whoever is given wisdom has been given much good

A good model of character to consider is the one we strive to keep during the month of Ramadan. There’s a heightened focus on spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and devotion to Allah. It’s an opportunity for muslims to express gratitude for the blessings we have been given. The month is seen as a time to deepen our connection with our Creator, to seek forgiveness for past sins, and strive for personal growth in our faith and character. But… then what? When Ramadan is over, everyone goes back to “normal”? (And what is normal?) Overall, seeking to be closer to Allah, earning His pleasure, and ultimately attaining success in the Hereafter inshallah… is that not something we should keep doing and keep striving for through life rather than just once a year?

Gratitude, empathy, and reflection, all aimed at drawing closer to Him and becoming better individuals. That’s a mindset that is helpful in our striving to reach the goal. That is why I advise to think more like we do during the holy month. Try to keep the mind more steady in that sense. In my Eid Al Fitr input I wrote the following words… “It is important to remember that life continues after the month has passed, and a good thing to continue to strive to be the best person that you can be, inshallah.”

Surah 2:256
Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things.

With reading the Quran more regularly, (thus increasing in understanding inshallah), as well as keeping a more steady mindset… you will stand on stronger ground in terms of reaching the goal, inshallah. Our aim is towards Him.

We will continue to look at points and what may help us in our path through life, next time inshallah… make sure not to miss it. Jumma mubarak and beautiful blessings and comfort for all of you, from the heart.

The best of times to you all inshallah.
Peace, happiness, and stay faithful.
