In life, there are people who will stop at nothing to achieve what they want. The striving with an ambition is often filled with obstacles, and there are those who take steps to accomplish their goal even if it may hurt others. In some cases it may be that a person is the actual obstacle, and the only way to accomplish the goal is to slander the person’s character falsely with unreasonable statements. If such claims damages that person’s honor and reputation, then the slanderer’s goal has been reached. I mean no ill towards the animal itself by saying this, but I’d like to call such people… sharks. Sadly, this type of thing is very common in this life… and humans in general are much too eager to be swept away by gossip and bad intentions. As a result, they make decisions based on hearsay, what they think they know, without further research. Lies become facts.
What is very important to remember in these kinds of situations is this…
سورة الحجرات ٦
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِن جَآءَكُمۡ فَاسِقُۢ بِنَبَإٖ فَتَبَيَّنُوٓاْ أَن تُصِيبُواْ قَوۡمَۢا بِجَهَٰلَةٖ فَتُصۡبِحُواْ عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلۡتُمۡ نَٰدِمِينَ
سورة الشعراء ٢٢١-٢٢٣
هَلۡ أُنَبِّئُكُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ
تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٖ
يُلۡقُونَ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَأَكۡثَرُهُمۡ كَٰذِبُونَ
سورة النساء ٨٥
مَّن يَشۡفَعۡ شَفَٰعَةً حَسَنَةٗ يَكُن لَّهُۥ نَصِيبٞ مِّنۡهَاۖ وَمَن يَشۡفَعۡ شَفَٰعَةٗ سَيِّئَةٗ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كِفۡلٞ مِّنۡهَاۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ مُّقِيتٗا
Surah Al-Hujuraat 49:6
O ye who believe! If a wicked person comes to you with any news, ascertain the truth, lest ye harm people unwittingly, and afterwards become full of repentance for what ye have done.
Surah Ash-Shu’araa 26:221-222
Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend?
They descend on every lying, wicked person,
(Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars.
Surah An-Nisaa 4:85
Whoever recommends and helps a good cause becomes a partner therein: And whoever recommends and helps an evil cause, shares in its burden: And Allah hath power over all things.
That’s why it is important to verify something you hear. Because whatever you hear may simply be something thas has been spread and taken on a life of its own. It is hard to control. We should always use our intelligence and common sense when it comes to these types of things and preferably avoid taking part of it. In the end… only our Creator knows the full truth, and in a situation where there is no certainty… we put our trust in Him.
سورة الأعراف ٢٠٠
وَإِمَّا يَنزَغَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ نَزۡغٞ فَٱسۡتَعِذۡ بِٱللَّهِۚ إِنَّهُۥ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
Surah Al-A’raaf 7:200
If a suggestion from Satan assail thy (mind), seek refuge with Allah; for He heareth and knoweth (all things).
