Physical and moral benefits of Dhikr

It is an amazing thing to consider how a simple act such as remembering our Creator not only strengthens our faith, inspires mindfulness and purifies our hearts, by clearing it from negative emotions… or how that not only improves emotional stability and lessens stress, or gives us mental clarity… it is also connected to the things we have covered in these last inputs, before entering the topic of “Dhikr”. It helps us become more self-aware and open-minded… it affects our gratitude as we remember His favours… it helps make us feel more humble… ya abdallah, ya amatullah, the list goes on…

* Improved Breathing. Indeed. There is no surprise that a body that is less stressed may experience improved health conditions. The rhythmic nature of Dhikr recitations often involves controlled breathing, which can enhance respiratory function and increase relaxation.

* Lower Blood Pressure. As the calming effect of Dhikr can lead to physical relaxation, it may also help lower blood pressure and improve cardiovascular health.

* Enhanced Morality. Understandably, a constant remembrance of Allah encourages muslims to hold to moral and ethical standards. It serves as a reminder to act justly, honestly, and compassionately. It ties to self-awareness and helps keep a believer’s mind focused and more conscious of our actions. As I said in my input when describing self-awareness… “It means recognizing and accepting our limitations and the sides in ourselves that we can grow and develop to improve our character.”

As we have seen and discussed over the past few updates, it can lead to positive behavioral changes, making individuals more patient, kind, and help develop more empathy for others. This can improve relationships with family, friends, and the wider community. Spiritual, social, psychological, and physical benefits that all somehow affect us and are tied together by one simple act… remembering Him. Everything is connected. And as we consider that in more depth, we may gain a deeper understanding of the following ayat…

Surah An-Noor 24:35
Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The Parable of His Light is as if there were a Niche and within it a Lamp: the Lamp enclosed in Glass: the glass as it were a brilliant star: Lit from a blessed Tree, an Olive, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil is well-nigh luminous, though fire scarce touched it: Light upon Light! Allah doth guide whom He will to His Light: Allah doth set forth Parables for men: and Allah doth know all things.

Surah Ash-Shura 42:53
The Way of Allah, to Whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth. Behold (how) all affairs tend towards Allah!

Fascinating indeed. I hope this has brought something to consider. We will continue to explore our path to Jannah next time, so be sure to not miss it. For now, I would like to wish everyone a beautiful time ahead, full of peace and comfort, inshallah. Jumma Mubarak, from the heart.

The best of times to you all inshallah.
Peace, happiness, and stay faithful.
