More sisters in space and International Women’s Day

At the moment of writing this, it’s March 8th, also known as Intenational Women’s Day. As is described on the Intenational Women’s Day website, it is “a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.” (www.internationalwomensday.com).

All respect to all sisters out there. My sincerest wishes is that you receive the beautiful recognition you truly deserve. And what beautiful timing it is to continue my writing on the achievments of muslim women, started by my precious article, “sisters in space”. (Which is a recommended read, feel free to check it out).

To quickly summarize, I covered Anousheh Ansari, an Iranian-American entreprenaur, who became the first female muslim to go into space in 2006, and Sara Sabry, an Egyptian engineer and trained astronaut, who became the first Arab woman, (and the second muslim woman), to go into space in 2022. This article will have some more amazing accomplishments by muslim women. Mashallah. So, let’s check it out…

In May 2023, Rayyanah Barnawi, a biomedical researcher with multiple degrees in biomedical sciences, became the first Saudi woman (and the third muslim woman), to go into space. In a recording done during her spaceflight, she spoke the following words, “this journey does not represent just my ambitions but those of the whole Arab world and all Saudis”. (The clip can be seen on here with her input starting at around 2:24.)

Pakistan followed closely after, (October 2023). The trtworld newssite describes it this way:

“Adventurer Namira Salim has become the first Pakistani to travel into space, riding aboard Virgin Galactic’s fifth successful flight in five months, the US company announced.
“Astronaut 019 Namira Salim from Pakistan, marking the first person to fly to space from that country,”.

According to the trtworld article, Namira Salim also travelled to both of Earth’s poles, and has also parachuted over Mount Everest. Mashallah.

In 2021, a probe from the United Arab Emirates was sent to the planet Mars (كوكب المريخ) to collect data. The Emirates website describes the mission in this way:

The Emirates Mars Mission “Hope Probe” will be the first probe to provide a complete picture of the Martian atmosphere and its layers when it reaches the red planet’s orbit in 2021. It will help answer key questions about the global Martian atmosphere

Behind the success of this mission is a woman called Sarah Al Amiri, who led UAE’s Mars Mission team. This short video below is highlighting her role. Listen to her own words…

This is a very influential woman indeed, as can also be seen by her speech to some very prominent people, such as America’s former vice president Al Gore. She speaks about the Importance of Women in STEM, (science, technology, engineering and math). Take a look…

Mashallah. Mashallah indeed. Alhamdulillah endless times. This is a so beautiful thing to see and a so good development. I am so proud of these sisters and their accomplishments. I hope this inspires all of you, inshallah.

Yes! In this I wholeheartedly believe. It’s like I said in my previous input… it’s not about what you are… it’s about who you are. I hope that this gives a feeling of strength and positive energy on this day and every day, ya amatullah. All blessings and comfort for all of you. Happy International Women’s Day, sister. You deserve it.

Have a truly beautiful day inshallah, and I hope that you found this to be an interesting and inspiring input indeed.

The best of times to you all inshallah.
Peace, happiness, and stay faithful.
