Humans

In this world we have a countless mixture of people. Men and women, rich and poor, young and old, cultural and ethnical differences, as well as language differences… a population of roughly 8 billion people altogether. Indeed, 8 billion people. It’s a fascinating boundless world of variations.

One of the problems most humans have is that we generalize far too often. We put a group of people under the same light. It could be men. It could be women. It could be people of a certain culture, colour (ethnicity), religion, or profession. The cause of this type of thinking is that we identify ourselves outside of that group. We mentally raise an “us and them” line of thinking, a barrier. The more differences that are added, the more “alien” a group or a person becomes. We start thinking generically so if a person does something wrong, we then blame it on the group. “Ah, that’s just typical, because of this or that”…

Surah Al-Hujuraat 49:13
O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things).

There are indeed differences, but… we must keep in mind that even with such differences, each person has his or her own individual strengths and weaknesses. Each and every individual still act with his or her own ambitions in mind. Two males or two females do not necessarily act and think alike, even if they belong to the same “group”. Or even if they are two members of the same family and have grown up together. A person is responsible for his or her own actions, according to what God has given the person. This is what makes each person stand out.

In the end, and above all else, we should always try to see people without labels first, whenever possible. All people are capable of greatness… or faults… but also capable of rising from it, regardless of ethnicity, gender, or culture.

Surah Luqman 31:22
Whoever submits his whole self to Allah, and is a doer of good, has grasped indeed the most trustworthy hand-hold: and with Allah rests the End and Decision of (all) affairs.

This is part of why we put our trust in Him. The wisest of judges, the Knower of all things. After all, this world and its differences is a beautiful thing. And we can definitely learn something from it.

Surah Ar-Room 30:20-22
Among His Signs in this, that He created you from dust; and then,- behold, ye are men scattered (far and wide)!
And among His Signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that ye may dwell in tranquillity with them, and He has put love and mercy between your (hearts): verily in that are Signs for those who reflect.
And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the variations in your languages and your colours: verily in that are Signs for those who know.

Surah Al-Israa 17:84
Say: “Everyone acts according to his own disposition: But your Lord knows best who it is that is best guided on the Way.”

I hope you found this an interesting input and that it has brought something to consider.

The best of times to you all inshallah.
Peace, happiness, and stay faithful.
