Happy Independence Day

On May 25th, 1946, the Emirate of Transjordan, a territory under the control of the British Empire, became an independent state and officially changed the name to The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Abdullah I bin Al-Hussein, son of Hussein bin Ali, Sharif of Mecca, became the nation’s first King. King Hussein’s grandfather, (and the current King Abdullah II’s great-grandfather).

A fascinating history as well as a country of many interesting sights. Those who have not yet read my page on “The Amman Message” may find a litte more information on these interests there. To my Jordanian brothers and sister, I would like to extend my warmest wishes for a happy independence day. I hope this day ahead will be a beautiful day for all of you, inshallah, as well as for the rest of the muslim ummah.

The best of times to you all inshallah.
Peace, happiness, and stay faithful.
