Everything is connected

Have you ever considered how everything is connected? How whatever happens in one part of the world affects other parts of the world? We are affected by the news. By the weather. Things that happen. I want you to consider these things in depth. We are tied to the world around us. We feel something when someone else is sad or happy. Anything a person says or does in life has a “ripple effect”. Like throwing a stone in the water, the impact of the stone causes ripples…

To give an example, I wrote in the input on words and speaking, “A single word can cause pain, happiness, anger, or indifference. It can affect how people look at you and leave a lasting mark, either positive or negative.” But it doesn’t stop there. The person carries either good or bad with them from the word exchange and others may be affected positively or negatively depending on how that person feels and behaves towards them… a ripple effect. I’m not discussing good and bad specifically… in this case I am trying to show the ties in everything. Events that happen are connected.

It’s not just humans. It’s our connection with the world around us too. We are connected to all life on this planet. As I described in my input on the locations of the stars. “We know that the tilting of the Earth is essential to give us summer and winter seasons. […] The moon affects the weather on this planet as well with its gravitational impact, while circling around us.” This is all connected. I also described the other planets as affecting us and also considered whether the stars may have a similar effect…

Even the Quran is like a big network of connections. Let me give an example. These are ayat taken from different Surahs. You can easily read them together as a single paragraph, each aya connecting to the other to bring a much larger understanding.

Surah Al-Alaq 96:6-7
Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds,
In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient.

Surah Faatir 35:45
If Allah were to punish men according to what they deserve. He would not leave on the back of the (earth) a single living creature: but He gives them respite for a stated Term: when their Term expires, verily Allah has in His sight all His Servants.

Surah Taa-Haa 20:15
“Verily the Hour is coming – My design is to keep it hidden – for every soul to receive its reward by the measure of its Endeavour.

These ayat describe what humans do wrong (Al-Alaq 96:6-7), what we deserve (Faatir 35:45), and why that punishment has not been given (Taa-Haa 20:15). The Hour is hidden for a reason. Now, try to read the example the other way, first Taa-Haa, then Faatir, and last Al-Alaq. It flawlessly works to read either way. Try it and you’ll see what I mean. This is just one example, I could have brought many more ayat into this example as there are several other ayat in the Quran that connect and it amazes me every time I discover something while reading, how one aya connects with the other, how a larger understanding of things is shown when we remember different ayat connecting with the one we just read.

Surah An-Nisaa 4:82
Do they not consider the Qur’an (with care)? Had it been from other Than Allah, they would surely have found therein Much discrepancy.

That everything is somehow connected… our lives, our world… I know that it may be obvious to most, yes. Most of the time we just accept it and carry on… but once we really start to think deeply about matters, we start to see things on a whole different level inshallah. An amazing and beautiful thing is, in the middle of thinking about all of it… I remember this one aya…

Surah Ash-Shura 42:53
The Way of Allah, to Whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth. Behold (how) all affairs tend towards Allah!

Alhamdulillah indeed.
I hope that you found this an inspiring input and that it has brought something to consider.

The best of times to you all inshallah.
Peace, happiness, and stay faithful.
