A moment of patience in a moment of anger…

A moment of patience in a moment of anger saves you a thousand moments of regret“. Ali Bin Abi-Talib (رضـي الله عـنـه) is quoted as saying these words. The words carry importance and a great deal of wisdom as humans are very quick to respond to things that affects them negatively.

Surah Al-Ma’aarij 70:19
Truly man was created very impatient

In such times, we may feel a need to release pressure from inside ourselves. In most cases, the person receiving such emotions may in turn be affected in the same way and respond in a similar manner. The result of it all is that what started as a small thing then grows and it becomes an endless loop that does more harm than good. It may cause deep and lasting scars in the end. This is the case with all of us to a bigger or lesser extent. It’s all depending on how people deal with emotions in different situations. I myself feel that I am good with patience alhamdulillah but I am only human and have been affected at times as well. During these days, there has been a certain weight that comes to mind, something I feel I want to respond to, just to get it out of the system and off my chest. It plagues the mind… But in such times, I remind myself of those words of wisdom from Ali (رضـي الله عـنـه), as well as the beautiful wisdom of the Quran…

Surah Al-Baqara 2:263
Kind words and the covering of faults are better than charity followed by injury. Allah is free of all wants, and He is Most-Forbearing.

Surah Al-Ahzaab 33:70-71
O ye who believe! Fear Allah, and (always) say a word directed to the Right:
That He may make your conduct whole and sound and forgive you your sins: He that obeys Allah and His Messenger, has already attained the highest achievement.

Surah Al-A’raaf 7:199-200
Hold to forgiveness; command what is right; But turn away from the ignorant.
If a suggestion from Satan assail thy (mind), seek refuge with Allah; for He heareth and knoweth (all things).

Remembering who and what we are, and seeking His help with patience, is always the best decision. I choose to remember a good friend this Saturday, whom I hope will have a truly beautiful day ahead, from the heart. My best and most beautiful wishes, and that goes to all of you out there as well.

I hope that you found this an inspiring input and that it has brought something to consider.

The best of times to you all inshallah.
Peace, happiness, and stay faithful.
