I’ve been talking a lot about historical Quranic texts, and in my last update I was elaborating on my interest in Jordan… this time, the udpate is touching a different topic… revolving around a personal interest of mine.
Ever since I was a child, I’ve enjoyed going to the movie theatre… to escape into the darkness of it and find myself in another world. Understandably, due to the ongoing Corona pandemic and the restrictions that followed, the year 2020 saw a lot of movie premieres pushed and postponed, some even released directly on streaming services. The entertainment industry has certainly taken its toll, and so has many movie theatres I imagine. Here in Sweden, (as I’m writing this), only 8 people may attend public gatherings and public events, which also include theatres. 8 people in a movie lounge that can hold over a 100. I’m just glad the local theatre is still open, alhamdulillah. The second problem however, is what I just mentioned… many movie premieres were pushed… so the reportoire this past year has been very thin…
But I am excited to say that now, finally, over a year since I last set foot in the theatre, there is a movie that I will go to watch with my brother and my nephew this coming Friday inshallah. I can’t wait. 8 people allowed… the place will be a lot calmer than usual, and there will certainly be no trouble finding a place to sit. This is a trailer for the movie we will go to see, I will of course mention my thoughts about it once I’ve seen it inshallah…
